Highlights



  • Reduced GHG intensity by 44% in FY 2024 (2019 baseline).
  • Reduced Scope 3 Category 11 (use of sold products) by 27% per million dollars of gross profit in FY24 (2019 baseline).
  • Increased renewable electricity to 73% in FY24, up from 70% in FY23, and sustained a 100% renewable electricity rate in the U.S.
  • In FY24, improved average energy consumption per wafer pass by 13% across all semiconductor products (2019 baseline).
  • 97 suppliers, comprising 38% of spend, confirmed they have global GHG reduction goals, and 109 suppliers (54% of spend) provided site-level data.
  • Increased non-hazardous landfill diversion rate to 75% in FY24, up from 73% in FY23.
  • In FY24, total compensation for women globally was 99% of total compensation for men (and 100% in the U.S.); and total compensation for racial or ethnic minorities in the U.S. was 101% of total compensation for non-minorities.
  • In FY24, community investments increased 24% over FY23 to $14.5 million.

JUST CAPITAL  — Announced its  JUST 100 list for the 2025 rankings of America’s most just companies,  in partnership with CNBC. Drawing from data from 940 companies across 36 industries, the Top 100 were scored for 17 issues affecting workers, customers, shareholders, communities, and the environment (such as paying a fair wage, treating customers fairly, and prioritizing sustainability). This year 19 CEF members ranked in the JUST 100 list, and six in the Top 20,  including: Hewlett Packard Enterprise (#1 for the second year in a row); HP, Inc. (#2); Bank of America (#3); Trane Technologies (#6); Applied Materials (#13); and Alphabet (#19).  (Feb 2025)

NEWSWEEK / STATISTA  — Published its America’s Most Responsible Companies 2025 list,  ranking 600 U.S. companies (out of the 2,000 largest publicly traded companies) on ESG performance. The analysis is based on 30 key performance indicators along with consumer reputation. Merck scored #1, with 97.83 points (out of 100). CEF members in the top 50 include: General Mills (#2), Applied Materials (#4), HP (#6), Mastercard (#7), Hewlett Packard Enterprise (#9), Ecolab (#12), Analog Devices (#13), Qualcomm (#29), Cisco Systems (#31), Visa (#33), CBRE (#35), Apple (#42), and General Motors (#50).  (Dec 2024)

Joined the CEF member network in December 2023!


Catalyze — CEF members Schneider Electric and Applied Materials, along with Intel, launched this new collaboration to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy across the global semiconductor value chain. The companies will encourage the industry’s thousands of suppliers to join the Catalyze program and decarbonize. Specifically, Catalyze aims to combine energy purchasing power to accelerate deployment; facilitate utility-scale power purchase agreements; increase awareness; and support and educate suppliers in decarbonization efforts.
